Are you looking for first grade math center games that are no prep (that’s right…just print and GO), standards-based, and can be used in math centers, math work stations, or just for math game time to solidify your first grade students’ understanding of math concepts? If so, this is for you!
We have created a yearlong set of 41 printable common core aligned math games for your first grade classroom. Your students will absolutely love these! How do we know this? We teach first grade and have used these math games with our own students and witnessed first hand huge smiles and giggles as students practice first grade math standards in a developmentally appropriate way.
No more cutting out an endless amount of cards, no more trying to locate missing game pieces, no more trying to figure out which game the card you found laying on the floor after school belongs to… during center time, math rotations, or game time.
Best of all, you can realistically make a year’s worth of math games in a few hours. Then use those math games year after year after year.
- 41 Colorful Print and Go Games that will have your students practicing math concepts in a way that is fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
- Recording Sheets for those of you who like to see exactly what your students are doing (like we do).
- Directions that can be printed onto the back side of each game. No more lost directions! And easy-peasy for substitutes and educational assistants.
- Common Core Aligned and each game is labeled with the specific standard targeted to make planning a breeze!
Our school adopted a new math curriculum this year. Overall, we are very happy with the program. However, the “center activities” are primarily worksheet oriented.
We didn’t care for this. At all. First graders love to play. They need to play. It’s in their genes. And there’s TONS of brain research that connects play and learning with our little ones. TONS!
So…we began creating games that were aligned to the standard being taught and used them either during math rotations or during game time.
The result…AMAZING math scores, but…more importantly, students who were healthy, happy, and in love with math. We are not kidding!
The very best part, we were able to get the games prepped in a few hours, and will be using them year after year after year.
